When I see properties come onto the market that need refurbishment, I always tread with caution. Choosing a property that needs to be refurbished needs to be done with care and some research.

This property is on the market for £134,950 with Fields of Shifnal, having spoken to the agent the property does need full modernisation.

However that's said Shifnal is a desirable area. A market town with lots OF facilities on offer including good schools and easy transport links to Telford and the west midlands - and house prices have grown by over the last 10 yrs!

Rent achieved should be in the region of £650pcm and if this property was ready to let that would give a gross yield of 5.8% on a purchase price of £134k

However negotiated at the right price this could be a property for selling on for a quick profit or keeping as part of your portfolio
